We are proud to announce the public launch of our new website: Discover The Urantia Book (www.DiscovertheUB.com) to commemorate Jesus' birthday on August 21st and the upcoming 70th anniversary of the first publication of The Urantia Book in 1955. This new website is designed to make the teachings of The Urantia Book more approachable, engaging, and accessible to readers at every level.
We recognized a real challenge. Over half of adults in the U.S. read below a 6th-grade level, and globally, literacy rates vary widely. The Urantia Book’s advanced language and length can be daunting, even for experienced readers. Without accessible entry points, many seekers never get the chance to discover its wisdom.
The project began with a simple vision following completion of the Discover Jesus website: help seekers navigate the vast richness of the entire Urantia Book without losing the depth and beauty of its revelation. In just seven months, that vision has become reality.
Discover the UB seeks to meet readers where they are and accompany them as they grow. Whether someone is encountering these ideas for the first time or returning for deeper study, the site provides stepping stones through tiered reading levels that encourage exploration, reflection, and eventually fuller engagement to the original text, linked in each overview.
The site features:
This project was truly a collaborative effort. Special thanks go to MaryJo Garascia for her assistance in early editing, Fraser Gorrie for his pivotal role in the site’s development, Gabriel Rymberg for additional oversight and support throughout the process. Art for Part IV of the site was created for Discover Jesus. We also extend our gratitude to Lisa Crawford, Susan Lyon, and Rick Lyon for their thoughtful feedback during the review phase. Their collective contributions helped shape Discover the UB into the resource that it is today.
The timeline reflects a focused, seven-month journey of steady progress: initial brainstorming and prototyping in late January, glossary building and overview writing in the spring, a Second Miler Grant award from the Fellowship, design and testing through early summer, and final refinement leading to our initial public launch.
We invite you to join us for a demo of the site during the Ask Me Anything session on Saturday, August 23rd at 1:30 ET. This will be a great chance to see features firsthand and ask questions about the development and future of Discover the UB.
The site is live now, and this is only the beginning. As you explore, you’ll find a feedback link in the footer where you can share your experiences and suggestions. Your input will guide future development as we expand content and refine features.
Looking ahead, software development will continue with input on user experience and interface. We will also work on increasing traffic to the site through innovative methods, while developing our initial language translations of French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for your continued support in 2025!
Editors Note: Without the dedication, many long hours, and the expert efforts of Mike Robinson, this project would not exist. Please make sure to personally thank him for dedicating much of the past two years to Discover Jesus and Discover the UB projects.
