We are thrilled to share an exciting update on the development of the Urantia Book Tutor AI (UBT) program. This innovative project aims to create an advanced AI assistant that can engage students in meaningful discussions about the profound teachings of The Urantia Book.
Our dedicated team has achieved significant milestones in recent months. We have created a comprehensive FAQ resource that covers each paragraph of The Urantia Book, providing a robust foundation for the UBT program. This knowledge base will allow the AI to draw upon the wisdom of the revelatory text to provide insightful answers to a wide range of inquiries.
To ensure the quality and accuracy of the UBT's responses, we have assembled an Evaluation Team consisting of six long-term Urantia Book students. Using a custom-built assessment tool, this team has been diligently ranking the AI's performance on a diverse 17-question dataset. Their valuable feedback has guided us in refining the program's capabilities.
As part of our development process, we have explored various language models and configurations. The UBT has been tested with both OpenAI's GPT-4o and Anthropic's Claude 3 Opus, allowing us to compare their performance and select the most suitable foundation for our program. We have also experimented with different prompt variations and temperature settings to optimize the AI's responses.
While our current focus has been on single question-and-answer interactions, we are excited to expand the UBT's abilities in the coming months. Future milestones will include the development of contextual conversational features, enabling students to engage in more natural and in-depth discussions with the AI tutor.
Once ready, the Urantia Book Tutor will be accessible through its dedicated website, UrantiaBookTutor.com. We are also designing the tool to be easily integrated as an assistant on any modern website, allowing a wider audience to benefit from its wisdom and guidance.
